Wax Melts

Wax melts are wickless wax bits that are chock full of fragrance (think a candle, but without the wick/flame), that last anywhere from 12-68 hours.

We use a specially formulated soy/paraffin blend that is a 80/20 ratio. We use this particular mix as the paraffin helps to stabilize the wax (meaning that they're a bit firmer), while also helping to really oomf the fragrance scents! All of our wax melts come pre-cured and are ready for melting right out of the box!

When a melt loses it scent, simply wipe out with a paper towel and insert a new scent!

Our melts work in numerous melters (tea light, hot plate, and electric). We suggest electric and hot plate as the heat is more regulated than an open flame tea light (and safer, but you do you!).

Our Gaia's Garden line is made with a coconut/soy wax blend with no additives (dyes, glitters, toppings, etc).

While wax melts don't necessarily use open flame (unless melting with a tea light burner) caution should still be used when melting to avoid possible injury/burning.

We asked our Manbeam (a professional firefighter) for help with the following tips to keep you and your family (furry friends too!) safe when melting our products:

  • Place your melter on a safe and stable surface out of reach from children and pets and flammable items.
  • Pop in the desired amount of wax- Do not overfill bowl, one square per melter is more than enough!
  • Do not leave burner unattended.
  • When it's time to swap out your scent- simply warm up the wax once more and sop up with a clean cotton ball (or paper towel), and dispose.

We use ethically sourced, natural wooden wicks, that have a crackling sound creating a stunning yet rustic ambiance. Wooden wicks aren't just aesthetically pleasing, they also provide a cleaner, long-lasting burn.

Our wicks are 100% cherry wood, which means they are eco-friendly, nontoxic, lead, zinc, carcinogen, mutagen and phthalate free.

CANDLE CARE & SAFETY

  • Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings.
  • Trim your wick to ¼” before lighting.
  • If your flame is flickering excessively, too high, or if the flame is smoking your wick should be trimmed.
  • As your candle burns the container can become hot- only burn your candle on a level, fire resistant surface.
  • Never move your candle or handle while it is lit.
  • Do not leave your candle burning for too long. As a general rule, candles are not recommended to be burned for more than 3-5 hours at a time. It’s easy to be naughty and break this rule, don’t!
  • Always extinguish your candle with care by using a candle snuffer or upturned metal spoon. Avoid blowing it out, as this can cause wax spillage and NEVER use water to extinguish your candle. Once extinguished, allow to cool until wax is solid before moving or handling.

 

THE FIRST BURN

This is easily the single most important burn for your candle!

  • Make sure you allocate enough time for your candle to melt all the way to the edge of the glass before you snuff it out. This creates what’s known as ‘wax memory’. It will take a couple of hours but will prevent the dreaded “tunneling” effect that basically ruins your candle and therefore your whole day.

 

And of course, never leave
your candle unattended!

We strongly advise you to up-cycle your glass! A helpful tip to get out the remaining wax is to leave it in the freezer for over 24 hours, and said wax should pop out with a good smack on its glass bottom. Clean away any leftover wax residue with light soap and water. Now you've got yourself a pretty glass cup to store pens, makeup brushes, or even plant a mini succulent in it!

Basic Scent Facts:

  • Top-Middle-Bottom Notes: Perfumes evolve throughout the wearing process as they evaporate. There is a bright opening of top notes when first applied to the skin, followed by a few hours of middle notes and then a dry-down that varies in time, but holds closer to the skin. Reapply as needed to keep the lasting scent!
  • Separation is natural! Always shake up the spritzer bottle to ensure oils are evenly dispersed before use! To avoid
    irritation do not spray near eyes, armpits, genitals. As with all wearables, discontinue use if irritation occurs.

The Spritzer Scent Is not as Strong As When I First Got It, Why?

There are a number of reasons that may explain this, Let’s break it down:

  • Freshly manufactured bottles of fragrance are new strong and potent, but will age over time.
  • Wearing the same fragrance over a long period of time can also make your nose less sensitive to that particular scent. As we know, scent is the strongest sense tied to memories and emotions than any of the other senses; we suggest wearing specific scents for specific occasions/events to hone in on the memory of a particular event.
  • Many times scents may smell different or less potent due to formulation changes. Alterations to ensure compliance with regulations and manufacturer recommended dosage levels of fragrance materials can affect how strong a specific perfume may be at any given time.
  • Lastly, our sense of smell also changes due to biological and environmental factors. As we get sick (think COVID-19 and those whose smell was affected), and also age, our olfactory receptors change, therefore making fragrances to be perceived as 'different'.
  • Remember, the most delicate top notes you smell in a particular fragrance may begin to fade after the first year, and the earthier base notes will become smoother and stronger after several years.

Although the scent may alter over time, it is still wearable, though we suggest to use our spritzers within 12 months of purchase.

NEVER LEAVE YOUR WAX MELTER OR CANDLE UNATTENDED!

Some fragrances and perfumes can cause skin or nasal irritation (contact rashes/dermatitis, sneezing/allergies).

  • Per the National Capital Poison Control website, "should a skin irritation occur, wash the skin with soap and water to remove any remaining product and discontinue use. If inflammation and irritation persists, an over the counter topical steroid like 1% hydrocortisone can be applied."
  • If a wax melt, candle or fragrance is ingested, get guidance from Poison Control immediately to determine if it is a dangerous amount: call the National Capital Poison Center at the number below.

All of our products are RTS (Ready to Ship) unless specifically noted as 'PRE-ORDER'.

Our processing times average between 2-3 business days and up to 4 business days during holiday periods. All orders are packaged accordingly to ensure that your Moonbeams products arrive safely and securely.

Once your items have been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email containing tracking information. Please allow 24-48 hours for the tracking information to update.

If you need to make a change to the shipping address, please immediately email info@moonbeamscents.com with your order number and correct shipping address. We cannot be held liable for incorrectly entered shipping addresses but will do our best to make this update as timely as possible.

If you made the wrong choice regarding an item, please email us at info@moonbeamscents.com within 24 hours of placing your order. If your order has already been fulfilled we are not able to make changes.

There are currently two options for shipping items: weight based, or flat rate.

All US orders are shipped via USPS.

If you are concerned about the delivery of your order, please check the tracking information that is emailed to you and confirm that the address submitted is correct.

If your order has not arrived within 7 days of shipment, you can submit a missing mail search request here. Alternatively, you can call USPS with your tracking number at 1-800-275-8777.

PLEASE REMEMBER- Once your order is in the hands of the USPS it is out of our control. 

If there is an issue with your order you will need to reach out to your local post master (don't forget your tracking information) for further assistance. You can also check here to find service disruption alerts for your region.

Moonbeams ships worldwide!

We currently offer two different international shipping options:

~UPS- All packages are fully trackable and generally arrive within 4-10 business days days after shipping (excluding any possible customs delays).

~USPS- The estimated time of arrival given by the post office (but not guaranteed) is 10­-15 business days, excluding any time spent in customs.

Please note that International tracking is not available with this method and we are not responsible for lost or stolen shipments. Any inquiries regarding the location of your package will need to be made with USPS at 1-800-275-8777.

International Customers- Please be aware that you are responsible for any duties and customs charges that may be incurred. In most cases of delays, the package is being held at customs. In this event, contact your local post office with your customs form # for further tracking information.

Due to the nature of our products, we do not offer refunds or exchanges. We do our
best to describe each item vividly, but scent is a very subjective experience. For this reason, we recommend thoroughly reading descriptions on each particular scent you are inquiring about.

DAMAGED OR MISSING ITEMS
